Free Stuff

As I have not found a job yet, I have tried to mitigate my jobless state by searching for free samples and applying daily for silly drawings. I am quite proud of some of the things I have found on my freebie hunt. For instance, most recently in the mail I have received a sample of contact solution, 2 samples of Wisk laundry detergent, a full sized Nutrigrain bar type thing, a cute box of Kleenex, a coupon for a free full sized bottle of Advil, a coupon for a free full sized container of Cottonelle Wipes, and some other things that I can't quite remember.... (FYI: Crest gives out lame samples, barely enough for one time brushing your teeth, and it leaked. I threw it away)

Just today I signed up for lots more free things! Axe deodorant, Dove deodorant, Toms of Maine Toothpaste, Vaseline hand creme, some probiotics (I'm not entirely sure what these things do but I have found that the more I keep at this free stuff kick the less discerning I get about what I apply for, ironically, that same principle applies for my job search as well), I even signed up to get a Neti Pot and two packets of solution (apparently it flushes out your sinuses. I looked it up on WebMD and they say its ok, so I'm totally gonna try it...maybe. I have this thing about my nose and not liking liquids up there... you know how it is.) And to top it all off I got a free condom combo pack, yes, that's right, a Condom Combo Pack. I must admit I'm slightly wary of free condoms, but what can you do?

Sean laughs at me for my goofiness in this freebie kick that I'm on, but it totally keeps me sane.

I have discovered some other things to do with my free time, like trying to design the new fragrance for a Body Shop bath gel, I call it Clementine Sublime. And decorating the next candle holder for Glade, I call it Spring fields (Interestingly enough Glade changed my design around a tiny bit and told me I'm from South Dakota, go figure). I have also found out the great cleaning power of vinegar and baking soda. (I hate the smell of vinegar so I put some peppermint oil in to make it more bearable, next time I will try lavender) I love the way they foam up and how well they clean the bath tub.

I'd also like to send a big shout out to Netflix, Books, PS3, and HTC for keeping me sane in these last few months of my lonely life, when cleaning and the internet just doesn't cut it.

For any of you guys interested here are some links to where I find out about all these free things:

You may think I have no life....

.....you may be right.

At least I have my free samples.

You might not want to give away your name for the bath gel or candle holder. Someone might steal them! They both sound good :) I'm going to check out these websites. They look fun. I've decided I'm going to give couponing a whirl. It seems like so many people save so much money. Do you coupon? And, don't get too bored - call me if you ever want to do something. I've decided I don't like going into public all that much. People are so rude. I had the babe all covered up in his carseat for a quick errand today, and the lady at the store came over and said "Oh, can I take a peek - I just love babies!" AS she was opening the cover!!! Arg! Um, he's covered for a reason lady! And, you "asked" but were already looking and touching at my clean baby before I could answer. And then someone else was coughing all over. GROSS. So, I've decided I'm giving up going out in public. Okay, this sounds a bit extreme, and I am aware that I am a germaphobe, but seriously, people could be a little nicer. Okay, rant over.

So, my point... Call me sometime when you want to hang out! :) Wow, that was a long comment just to say that!

Oh, I think the Clementine Sublime one was a brilliant idea, but really, the attempt at the glade design was just sad, so I'm not too worried about anybody stealing my idea, lol. And if anybody I know reads this blog and wins by stealing my idea, I'm totally gonna make them take me with them as their plus 1 to London. :) (Fat chance)

So, we should definitely hang out this next week! Lets set up a day! Monday thru Thursdays are good days for me. :) If you want, you and I can go shopping together and I can be the honorary Baby Guard. "Excuse me m'am! Hands off that Baby!" OK, so really, I would probably just lie and tell them the baby is sick. We could even pick up some children's medicine and shake it in their faces is they aren't convinced. Just remember to put it back or you may end up with a lot of children's medicine by the time Ethan grows up.

I have not really excelled at the coupon thing. I get too nervous and think that the cashier is going to hate me, I'm pretty sure the people behind me in line would. Then I worry about whether I got the right size for the coupon, or the right amount... On top of all that I start to worry if its still cheaper to buy the store brand and if I need to go put it back. It makes for a very long shopping trip. (Sean is not a huge fan of long shopping trips.) It just stresses me out. But I would be willing to give it a try.

Anyway, that was my long way of saying, "OK, lets hang out"

I looooove freebies - they're how we survived when the twins and B were just babies! :D

Trust me, cashiers do not mind coupons. They're so streamlined now, all they have to do is swipe, swipe, swipe across the scanner. Usually if something is off (sizes don't match or you bought the wrong brand) the computer will catch it.

I wish we lived closer :D

I Love freebies! I'm on Frugalgirls.com almost daily. The sample sizes are perfect for emergencies and for emergency prepardness, they fit so easy into a backpack! They've also gotten us through some tight spots when the budget is stretched.

Love your posts and Love you!
