Camping!

Its been a while since the last post! So, let me catch you up on the last few weeks. We had a great memorial day weekend. We drove up to Bridal Veil falls and took some beautiful pictures. Then we we went and drove the Alpine Loop. It was the first time I have ever been, although we have tried once before, only to find it closed for the winter. It was so beautiful, but Sean drove a little too fast for me to get some really great pictures. On our way home from the Alpine Loop we stopped by the movies and saw Ironman 2, ate dinner at this yummy Philly Cheese Steak Restaurant, and then stopped by Wal-mart to pick up some seeds to grow our own herbs (the edible kind, not the smoke-able kind). It has been so long since we went on a camping trip, so when Sean and I made plans to go camping with our friends Dani and Cory we were so excited, and not about to be deterred by a little bit of rain. :) Rain showers and thunderstorms were in the forecast all weekend. Naturally I was a little bit worried as we drove down to Aspen Canyon and we could barely see the road because it was raining so hard. But by the time we got to the camp site the rain had let up and we had a wonderful overcast evening full of yummy food, great friends, beautiful scenery, and S'mores!

When it did start to rain that night we hopped in our tents and went to sleep. Unfortunately for the rest of our camping trip the rain never really let up. When there was a bit of a lull in the rain we popped out of our tents and Sean started making breakfast burritos for everyone. The rain kept going strong all while Sean was making breakfast so we had someone stationed over the food with one of my three umbrellas (What can I say? I like to be prepared) so the eggs didn't get too runny... We ate inside the tent and had fun chatting. Since we were afraid the roads would get to muddy we called it a day and drove back home. Our tent is now out in our living room, drying out from our latest adventure.

Oh, and our herbs are doing pretty well. (For the most part. One of Sean's still hasn't sprouted) Notice the difference between my small blue flower pot and Sean's. He very neatly put 5 seeds in. While I just dumped all my seeds in hoping at least a few would grow. Turns out they all grew. They will all probably die from not enough nutrients to go around... oh well.
